an unspeakable subject is the planned phasing out of nuclear energy in Germany.
CDU / CSU and the FDP voted yesterday to the German Bundestag, that the duration should be extended to the nuclear power plants by 12 years.
SPD, the Greens and the Left Party voted in a polemical debate, however - as if it were life or certain death. So if the next federal election, Green Party and SPD are won (and then it now looks very clear), will the almost inevitable next government coalition that extension of the term do then reversed by law.
There are 17 active nuclear power plants in Germany. These power plants are considered the safest in the world. So there was never 'incidents' in Germany, which came out on the bottom of 7-defined security levels, thanks to the excellent German engineers and the strict conditions. Since the industrial nation of Germany will continue to need a lot of energy, nuclear power must be purchased from just less certain power plants from abroad. Just as happened before.
