Castor transports: Where democracy ends
Ladies & Gentlemen,
the politician Renate Kuenast (Green Party of Germany) said today in light of the demonstrations against nuclear waste transports that would have been a triumph for democracy.
I think this statement and even the demonstrations with violent attacks against police and against democracy not only alarming but extremely dangerous.
The fighters against law order and did not hesitate to hurt police officers and damage to make in vast extent and even animals - 1,200 sheep - to abuse blockade purposes. As many as 16,000 police officers accompanied the Castor transports. This had the thankless task of keeping the track in front of violent demonstrators.
Now one can argue that nuclear energy should be rejected as a whole. - What we can not discuss, however, is the fact that nuclear energy in Germany has already provided useful services without any serious incidents. Now the waste nuclear fuel rods that have just given those current yield valuable disposed of course be. You can take the nuclear fuel rods so poorly in the pedestrian zone, or deposited in a cow pasture. Accordingly, the container with the spent nuclear fuel rods are transported to the disposal site. - No more, no less.
fact is that our politicians elected by the people legally elected representatives have made legitimate choices. These decisions, some may think is wrong. Therefore recognizes the right to demonstrate dissent, the possibility to protest or will to choose differently. But this right should not be confused with chaos and anarchy.
course, now the costs have to Damage to property and personnel identified offenders are allocated to all, for it is to defend democracy! --- Peter Bröll
